Hot Rods My autocross adventure NOT O/T

So today I ran an autocross event in my hot rod truck. I absolutely had a blast! I walked up to the reg tent and asked hey I got an old hot rod can I run it they laughed and said " whats it got a supercharged V8" I said well as a matter of fact it does. They got a funny look on their faces and directed me to a tech guy who passed me.
So I pull it up in line and noticed a few guys smurking and here the R word a few times and so on but there were a few local guys that kinda know me there that were really cool . When it was finally my turn ( I had no Idea what to expect) but I gave her hell and ran a clean run but not real fast a 39 second run.Fast time of the day was a mid 28.
next run a 36 then I messed up and aborted then a 34 and a few more with my best of a 31 with 1 cone knocked over 2 sec penatly for a 33 and change. I got first in my class (there was only one other car a 67 shelby looking mustang)and had alot of fun. I have some pics and video and there are more video but I havent got it all transfered yet I'll add later.

The truck sounds real good and STRONG! blown motors and skinny bias ply's are fun....you were wheelin' the hell outta that thing!

 

Looks like a snot-load of fun! Where was this Russco? I'm only about 40-45min. from Springfield now(new highway), would be cool to see it happen.

Actually once you got past the shock of what was going on, he did a fantastic job of driving. Some skill there for sure, and fast hands,,, REALLY fast hands to get it to turn.

That is cool... A buddy of mine did some autocrossing with his non HAMB friendly car. It was funny watching a Buick Roadmaster wagon outrunning the Honda's and such...

 

That looks like sooo much fun! I have also ran my hotrod in autocross, tooo fun. I think it is more fun driving something that isnt supposed to be able to turn like that. Do you think it would be AS much fun in something that CAN handle?

 

My 37 Sedan experience is a yawner compared to this truck, but it's fun, helps improve your skills and lets you know where you need to make improvements. Neat video. Hope to get faster with my next build. Gary

That was actually a pretty good run, considering what you're running. I guarantee you weren't the slowest out there! Having auto-crossed a bunch in the past I fully expected to see your truck look out of place, but you were straight-up "getting it." Nice job, man... looked like a ton of fun.

Mike's a wheel man.That was WAY COOL to see.You could tell with every run he was getting faster.Should of ran mine but it looked like rain,the sun wasent out the wind was blowing a littel to hard from the south,And the wife said NO.Very cool mike.
