    I would have to agree on the do it yourself..........some of us don't recall the ideas going on in our heads when we started. The only way to learn is to do it. Cool for you man.

    I am one of those guys who hates it when some asshole walks up to my car and starts picking it apart, if you dont like it move on. I am going to move on from this one but say good for you for doing it yourself and sticking to what you like, not my taste but if they all where the same that would suck. Anyway keep on keepin on.

    dude screw any of the jerk responces, i am really diggin that seat, and the material. i would like to beable to find an old diner bench like that, i will have to keep my eyes open. and i like the way it stretched out, do you think you could post maybe some mock up pics and maybe a tech on how you strecthed it through the curve using the oak board? maybe i am just thick but i am having a hard time visulising what you described as your process.

    thats awesome. its great that you had your son help you. I never knew my dad, but i'll never forget the things my grandpa and i did together.

    Right on the money there... I'm going to be enlisting my 6 year old daughter to "help" me on my two Chevy projects. She might only hand me a tool or hold a flashlight for now but she will remember building the hotrods with her dad. Not too many kids can say that.

    AND as far as the seat goes,

    I love it ,and you two did it together ,thats great...

    Do you all know how many kids would love to spend some time with either parent,

    Instead of sitting them in front of a TV and letting it babysit for you....
