I could have swore i posted mine in here. oh well. It's a 1949 Coronet. Flathead 6 with the fluid drive. runs and drives just doesn't stop so well. hopefully i'll get that figured out soon. lots of plans in the future. anyone know what the hubcaps are off of?

  2. dompiece - 57 Plymouth had a smooth pyramid hubcap. Yours appear to have ridges, I think they are an accessory cap popular back in the day......

I have a beautiful set of 15" Hudson Hornet Hollywood wheel covers that are going on this car. I have the fronts on now - looks great! I'll run them for a while, after the car gets roadworthy. I'd like a set of TT-D wheels, but I'll not too proud to go cheap in the meantime!

Some pics of my '56 Savoy I've been working on. Would like to hear what others think about the dummy spots, hood ornament, and trim on the door, can't decide if I like it or hate it considering everything else is shaved. Just got the skirts on the other day.

Noodles, looks good man....I do think the short trim makes the car look "squaty"...
I luv the lines of that model, maybe extend farther down the side....or none?
just my 2 cents since you asked......luv the sbc too

  14. Noodles56, good lookin car, but since you asked. I prefer the shaved hood, but the hood ornament is not a make or break deal. The side trim does not look like it lines up just right and distracts from the profile, the back tip on the door needs to be raised up a tad. The dummy spotlights could add a nice touch if you like them, but they are mounted all wrong. Coming out of the cowl looks awkward and there would be no way to operate a real spot light from there..... they should be mounted on the lower portion of the windshield pillar. Just since you asked.

Appreciate the input, I'm not a fan of the spots either. Someone did this car a while back (70's?) and had them there, never looked right to me. I'm thinking of losing the spots all together and maybe the side trim too, I messed around in photoshop a little and it looks a lot cleaner.
