Today here in Abilene KS was a stopover for the Ocean to Ocean Model T Race from New York to Seattle. A group of 55 or so Model T Fords are re-enacting the famous 1909 Race driving across the USA. One T from every state and 5 from foreign countries.

I took my girls up to see them this evening and I snapped a few pics of the uncovered ones that were at the hotel.

Tomorrow they are headed to Goodland KS and then over to Ft Collins Colorado. All of the drivers and riders were very friendly. I highly recommend stopping in to see them if you are nearby.

I plan on going up very early in the am and getting a few more pictures.

this looks so cool ! its probably is more difficult to do now since they cant rely on ford dealers spread across the country to service them like in 1909. now you need to bring all your own backup stuff. the only advantage i see now is the roads and chase vehicles

Went up this morning at 6:30 am and got a chance to see a few that hadn't pulled out yet.

I was glad I got to see the No 2 speedster.

What year is this one? I know it is a later T in the background.

I love T's and all, but feel terrible for anybody in a hurry that gets stuck behind 55 of them on the road!

  11. i know one of the guys on that , he is from the town where i live..i believe his son is driving one too. he is a real T nut and has a butt load of them.

Thanks for the pictures. I know its bad to say, but I find myself more interested in restored early cars than most hot rods I see.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I used to see Model A groups traveling interstate regularly haven't seen any fot years now. Even ran across a Studebaker group at a gas stop once long ago. Sure is nice to see old cars driven, whatever they are.

  14. Thanks for posting the pictures. Them sure are some nice looking T's, I did not take any pictures when I went to see them, cause I just knew you would post some for me.

Even a photo with your coupe lurking in the background. :)

[IMG]For anyone new to early Model T's this is a nice replica of the actual Ford that won the 1909 event. That early T coupe is a 1919-21, wouldn't mind having one myself. ****** Just noticed the Nosurf Coupe is alive and well, was there a rebuild thread I missed?
