Hey folks, I need your help. I got a new set of taillights for my 53 Customline, I like them, and need to know what you guys think. Thanks

I've seen this done before. Yours looks like a clean installation, but personally I think '59 Caddy tail lights are getting played out. I cut down a pair of early 60's Falcon tail light lenses for my '53, but I also like the old standby '56 Olds lenses

I think you like them. Yours is the only important opinion about your car. For the record, I think they're pretty damned cool.

  5. I agree the only person you have to make happy is yourself build it the way that you like it!!

I've got a thing for custom tail lights. I love walking behind a row of cars just to see who came up with the best tail lights. Yours would deffinately get my attention.

I like them, it carries over the scallop theme and gives it a more 3d look.

I like 'em, they don't stick out too far, which some tend to do!

    Yep.

  14. If you were running a bone stock car then I'd say stick with stock. But with the mild custom look they are great! Infact I think the stock ones look out of place with the current look of the car.

I like the stock ones but it's up to you. Since they are just tail lights you can change them back and forth as often as you want. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.

I agree. '59 Caddy tail lights have been over used for a while now. The only thing more played out is flat black.

They don't do anything "good" for the car. Stock look better. 56 Olds look best.

    The stockers looked much better.

  21. I have '59 caddy tailights in my '54, they're frenched and tunnelled about 6". I wanted the tailight set up I have, because my father had a similar set-up when he built his faux-sunliner. I really like olds tailigihts, I also LOVE flatplastic tailights in '52-54 fords. That being said, I think my tailights look pretty sharp.

    (I've posted these before. Sorry)
    Here are mine [IMG]

Edit* Also, If you like them, then leave them. As long as you're happy, thats all that matters.

looks great, keep em but drop that thing, customlines look great slammed.

  25. Well, they're a little different anyways. How do they look from behind with the brake lights on? Can people tell you're stopping or turning? That would be my primary concern.

  26. These are the custom taillights that I fabricated from 78 Firebird mirrors on my 56 Dodge truck. [IMG] I used lexan to cut out the script and sign material for the red see through color custom made bulb holders to mount the bulbs inside the mirrors.
