YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THIS ISSUE OF "Still Runnin".. http://www.stillrunnin.com/ It's a Father Day's tribute. It will choke you up..Boy, it bring's back memories...great tribute indeed... There is a lot of us that owe our hot rod roots to our fathers. Along with some other GREAT Stories,,there's a great one about GMC Bubba.. It's A MUST READ.. (Lea, you done good,,,,,,, )
Great site! Just checked it out, very impressive. I met John and Lea at the Road Rockets show last weekend. They were parked behind me in their Vette. They were two of the coolest people you could hope to meet at a car show, and their online mag really shows the devotion to, and knowledge of hot rods. I have to second what Tierod said.
Lea, great site, great issue. You've come such a long way in a very short time. You've become a must read site. We here in Richmond are very proud of you and Big John. And the Corvette piece about driving along the Parkway brought back many memories. Well done! Pete
The Father's Day Issue is one of my favorites SO FAR! SRM is about cars, sure, ... but it is really about the people behind the cars. I found myself both smiling and choked up while doing this issue. Thank You for the comments, they are very much appreciated! We have made many new friends in the last 2 years, hot rod people really do rule! Thanks again!
Lea, I want to thank you again for the venue to tell my story! It meant alot to my parents, especially my Pop! I could probably write a book with the all the stories I have, some my Pop actually says "how do you remember that?". I guess he really didn't realize how much of an influence he had on me. He is truely my hero!! Jim Sgrignioli
I'll point out the Caddy ad was In Mem for my own Dad ... I sure miss him! You are ALL so welcome, I'm glad to have made Dad's day for ALL of you! Here's the link to the Caddy ad ... http://www.stillrunnin.com/magazine/sr6/9-10
With Mom & Pop both pushin' 80, I sure cherish every moment I have with them! I am sorry for your loss Lea, I'm sure a bit of him lives on with you on a daily basis. That is a great tribute to your Dad!
I am so excited that my story was part of that great magazine. When Lea asked me to do it, I didn't even know what to say. The whole issue turned out just awesome. My story was on the 2 1956 Chevys that were my dads that I found. Thank you again Lea for helping me tell my story. Here is a pick of the car now.
I guess i am still a bit "choked up" in regards to the story about Scott and I. He just sent me a email said to check out the site for my fathers day card sunday morning. I had no idea and was choked up for a while. My older sister is still crying every time she sees it ! Great magazine Lea............real people ...real cars ..
Very nice story... I lost my Dad 6 months ago. He was 81 and an old hotrodder. I have missed him everyday. Spend all the time that you can with your Dad's and with your kids.....
I agree.... Lots of good stuff... Don't hear enough of respect and how a father can influence their offspring. Dallas
SRM has received many complimentary emails for past issue, but this issue was simply the best! Thank you all for the great emails on the Tribute to Father's day, we are looking forward to next years tribute! If you have a great dad a story you want to share with your counterparts, let SR know.
I keep getting comments back as well, Lea. Still Runnin really came through with the latest issue, and it was an honor to have my dad's 60 Chevy in there. It was extra special for me because I am building the car for my dad, but I think it hits a lot of us because of where we formed our roots... from working with our dads on cars. Thanks again!
