This is a guy that I work with and his FED, it is powered by two 409's; one supercharged, the other injected. In this video taken last Sunday, he is helping his 17 year old daughter to learn to drive it and has removed the supercharged engine, fitted a 50% throttle stop and imparted a lot of fatherly advice. this run nets her an 11.40, her best so far was a 10.50. She has previous experience in the Jr. Dragster ranks. He used a $139.00 camera mounted to the roll cage, you'll see it slip part way through the run - something he is working on for next time as well as improving the sound. Kids and Feds, you gotta love em'... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dchrxsKyr4
Thats just too cool!! Good for her that she has a father that can do this for his child!! Now maybe my wife will watch and let me teach my daughter to race.
Thanks for the post! That is a nice car, I've seen it at the Dover Reunion at Marcus Dairy. Makes me want to get my Lyndwood running.
Thats quality family time right there........... There is nothing kooler than girls and cars.... Thanks for sharing Leon
Was that taken at Island in Great Meadows New Jersey? The starting line area looks pretty much as it did the last time I was there in 1965.
WOW!! How proud can a Dad be?!! He looked real familiar, Dad, izzat you? Its me, Chuck, your long lost son, thats probably the same age as you. Can I borrow the car too? Man thats great.
The gal has a lot of talent and Dad will bring it all out. He seems very patient. Thanks for sharing the information and video
Her Dad is indeed a patient man. He has the kind of personality to help his daughter and have a lot of fun with it. He has been around the local scene for a good number of years.
Thumbs up on that one. Just as she was ready to nail it, my daughter called from the states and we shared it together. Awsum, we both thought it was just the greatest. Ice man
Very cool video, reminds me of when i raced there years ago at bridgewars with longisland dragway vs. island dragway. i was running my dads old car and seeing the video reminded me of the bond and trust we had at the track. my 2 cents on racing at island dragway: make sure your chute opens at the finish line, damn that is a short slowdown
Slip? That camera was trying to look down her top! Not me though, thats just silly. She is my sister after all, DADDY IT'S ME JR!!...................... Doc.
