I was lurking on here for a long time and still mainly lurk rather than post. 'Been lurking for a few years...my boyfriend spent a lot of time on the HAMB and then everytime I searched for Nailhead information I wound up here...same for Dynaflow stuff, so I made an account too. I entertain myself on here frequently, and I find a lot of interesting/useful information. I love running across other Buicks and I'm always psyched to see other girls on the forums...it's a great motivator.

I was searching the web for custon skull shifter knobs and came across the one I wanted. After digging deeper, I ended up here. I do not own what I would call a H.A.M.B. worthy ride yet, but thats in the works. This is a great site with a lot of knowledgable folks, great information and an always willing to help attitude. You all are great. Unfortunately most of the older rigs (that are affordable) up here are rust buckets. Just wait'en to come across the right truck.

I was lucky enough to have the honour of meeting Dick Landy a few years ago at a paintshop where i was having a car painted, he was having his cars prepared to take to England for the Goodwood festival.

I'm from England originally, so we got talking, both he and the shop owner ( a long time custom car guy ) mantioned HAMB, i figured i better take at a look at this place. i cruised around the site for a bit, and finally made my first post when Lil John passed away, an event which really effected me, and a lot of people here.

I dont post much, my car is a little over the HAMB cutoff, (71 Rivi) but the site is a great place and a top notch resource, especially for show info, which i need because i write/shoot show reports for a British magazine, www.retrocarsmag.com

    ...i'm here to stay:)

  4. I saw some cars at the Mooneyes X-mas party with firewall tags. Wondered what it was all about so I looked it up. I really like the style of stuff here. I know my car it a little too new, but I'm working on starting a new project. At least I'm in a caddy with www , and not a '66 mustang or chevelle.

  6. I found this place a while back through google. I set back and observed for some time, then when I finally got my truck almost done, I joined as an Alliance member right away to support the cause. This site is the best! I will be here until I'm dead!

I found the HAMB by googling for "how to ___________" <--- fill in the bank, for my car. Best tech articles here. I hope my skills get to the point some day where I can post a tech thread and give back to this site.

  11. Amen!

I found the H.A.M.B. through one of your members and was fortunate enough to meet up with him at LARS this past weekend. Since I found the H.A.M.B., I haven't been surfing any porn. If you guys curb any of my other vices, my friends won't know who the hell I am. :D

Awe, c'mon 283 John others and myself wont jump your shit for going over a topic already covered, even if it's been beat to death. Remember guys that fella that built his own '32 frame was worshipped by all and rewarded by the Jalopy Journal for his craftsmanship. Nothing has been done until YOU do it!

  13. I was looking for a hot rod to build, when I found the Cars for Sale section of this site.

Curiosity brought me over because I kept hearing that everyone was an a-hole over here, un-civilized and such...and while some of that might be true (depending on how you look at it, or how thick your skin is), this is THE most diverse, knowledgable, and creative bunch of folks I have seen on any forum...bar NONE...

    You guys rock.

BTW: You are NOT ALL a bunch of a-holes as I soon found out...although some of you come across that way.

To be honest I don't really recall how I found the HAMB. If I had to guess, it was a Google search a few years ago when I was looking for a 50 Ford. As fate would have it, I ended up getting a 50 Buick instead. I just recently purchased a 56 322 that I intend to drop into the 50.

Although I rarely post (just posted my intro post several weeks ago) I read the forums on a daily basis. I intend to stick around since you all are a great source of information. I hope to one day be one of the "old guys" that posts helpful information but until that day, keep up the great forums.

ABONED sent me to this place. It's my second home. Seriously. It's a community that loves the same thing. A bucket-load of stuff to learn on here and always keeps coming. Will be a life member here for sure. Won't be going nowhere!!!!!!

Also a credit to the guys running the H.A.M.B.

Dave Bautista from the Lucky Bastards Car Club in Santa Rosa, Ca told me about it last year. I dig it. Lots of cool pictures, and good stuff to read.

  20. Because of back and hip issues,I decided to put my beloved Harley up for sale, which coincided with my finding a certain car that I desired from long ago. Did the "Google" thing on '62-'65 Mopar,Max Wedge and Super Stock cars, saw the "H.A.M.B-Hokey Ass Message Board" listing and first thought "WTF?" I had also checked out a "Drag Racing" oriented site-which will remain unnamed;many of you know of what I speak-and after a while found out that it was more porn,UAW-bashing,and general bullshit than drag racing, and went back to this site. Glad I did;a better group of post-juvenile delinquents cannot be found. I've been fortunate to have met a couple of the crowd(at the Sloan show this past weekend) and am going to try hard to NOT be an a-hole on here.
I'm also very much into vintage snowmobiles, and am part of the biggest site concerning those critters, and wonder how many of those guys are lurkers or even members here. I've told a few of those cats about the HAMB,as there's a lot of rod/kustom/performance car enthusiasts on that site as well. I hope they join.
I'm going through some tough times right now,and this site is a link to (in-)sanity and a motivation to get and keep my shit together and get an ol' Mopar in my garage. Thanks to all involved!

My brother told me about this site. Neither of us have HAMB material cars, but are both interested, and I want to get one for my next project. So I figured I would read up and get some useless knowledge before hand.

Was doing some searching for metalworking stuff and found the Hamb. My previous cars have all been post '64, but my latest is a '64 b body. I plan on sticking around- dig all the creativity and resourcefulness I've seen here. I want to keep the '64 rolling in a traditional-late-early-era-nascar style. :)
