Here is a picture (unsure of the origin) from Detroit Nationals in 1959. The car in the near lane (236) is Bernie Partridge driving Gus Leighton's Desoto powered roadster. Anybody got an idea of the other car?

The T Bird was the blown BBC powered car of Kazjanian and Lemon. BBC powered rig ran the So-Cal BB/GS circuit. It was beautiful and a decent runner producing 9.40's at 140 plus

I know a guy in PA that has one of them. Can't quite remember which one. I'll have to ask him about it when I see him in a few weeks.

I visited Beaver Springs recently, good folks up there. I'm back in GA now so I won't be able to be there but suggest all who can to give it a shot.

A couple of Beaver Springs cars: Sorry about the quality but I was running out of light.

I remember these guys running a Camaro in Modified Production in NHRA, and GT class in AHRA, or maybe it was IHRA. Anyone have any photos of the camaro?

  23. I really like this picture. Two completely different setups, on guy sitting low, other high. One engine more forward and sitting higher, other back and sitting lower. Lots of things to look at...

The 3 cars that were built by Bill Thomas were 63 convertibles. They were sent to the guys that were building Vett bodies to have fiberglass roofs made for them. 1 car was destroyed.

I concur. These cars were so entertaining to watch. Jumping, hopping and swaying down the track; No two alike. And they didnt have to be powered by a blown, nitro V8 either. Most were propelled by either 283/327 Chevies that were normally aspirated and on gas.

Different setups, but both altereds have "the look". Lots of slingshots around but not so many altereds with the motor up and out like that. Classic.
