I went last night and traded my '00 Jeep Wrangler for this '29 Model A Coupe. I get the car tomorrow morning. It's in great original condition and I think I'll keep the banger in it for now. Since my '38 Dodge is still in the works I think I'll drive this one pretty much as is and try to formulate a solid plan before I take anything apart and get too crazy. Juice brakes and wheels/tires are likely the first modifications I would make. From there who knows, but it would be nice to have this one be a rolling project without a lot of extended down time periods. Everything works on the car.

What would you guys do with this one? Here are some pics I took where I went to look at it.

T spring, 16inch wires, drop the axle, drive it. In that order.

Only thing I would change is to put drive it the first thing on the list. All the rest can be done while you are driving it and having fun.

Great deal. I can't believe a guy would take a 9 yo Jeep for that. I bet you can't either.

    Anyone want to swap a '36 3w for a 1990 Silverado?

Thanks guys - you are all confirming my gut feel which is to change very little on this car.

  11. Ya, a car that pristine after 80 years would be a shame to chop up. If anything, see what you can sell it for. maybe make a lil extra money and then build up a hot rod.

Well, I actually have another '29 Model A chassis, cowl, boxing plates, a '52 331 hemi, etc... that I have been collecting parts for to build up a roadster pickup, so I will be able to scratch that itch in time. I ran across this one while I was looking for A parts and the guy indicated he was selling it to buy a Jeep for his vacation home so it kinda worked out. I wasn't looking for another car - it kinda found me :D

I just like it for what it is and want to go real mild on any kind of changes, you know, have one that I can actually drive. The other 2 projects are still in pieces.

You've been given excellent advice ... other than making driving the #1 objective, I'd vote for those 16" wires, juice brakes, and warming up the banger motor just a little. Other than that, you've got yourself a truly great ride!

Thats a clean automobile, Just make bolt on changes that can be reversed later down the road if someone else choses.

Ain't that the truth. In a few months that Mopar slug will more than likely be in the junk heap.

Nice coupe...For me,I would put a nice aftermarket frame with a small block and 8" rear and drop that nice body and interior down on it.Sell the original frame and running gear and recoup a good portion of the cost of the aftermarket stuff.......Just me though!!! Milo

 Wow! Sweet trade. Was your jeep a 1 of 1 or something? Mud bogger or some kind of monster truck? Or maybe you noticed the A model as the guy was falling out of it onto his head. Some guys have all the luck. Congratulations. . .you should lose no sleep over this one.

It looks beautiful. I would change very little. It would be a shame to chop up such a pristine car.

DEAAAMMMMNNNN....nice trade! I'd drive the piss out of it the way it is and slowly do the upgrades others have mentioned. Making Juice brakes at the top of the list. Sweet start though!

Sweet .Leave it alone And pass on your almighty wisdom. The answer to your question where do you go from here A CRUISE IN THAT BEAUTIFUL RIDE If you want to make changes to the car That's cool. Personally here is how I would do it. I would either buy or build another frame in your spare time. Switch body and everything over later. This way you can have fun with it. Until the frame and suspension are done.
