I was walking home from school in about 1974, maybe '75 and this very car was parked on Tassajara Drive in East Richmond (California, East Bay Area). I hadn't seen the movie yet but I had bought the issue of Street Rodder with the movie and cars featured inside and I recognized this '40, especially with the quad and hooded headlights and purple scallops. It looked exactly like it did in the movie and I just stood there and looked at it. Come to think of it, it may have had Cragars when I saw it. I would have been in 5th or 6th grade. Swear to God.
Here is a list of my car related films, let me know what you guys want. Bullitt Cannonball Run Dazed and Confused Dirty Mary Crazy Larry Easy Rider Death Proof Gone In 60 Seconds (Both Versions) Grand Prix LeMans Two Lane Blacktop The Worlds Fastest Indian

I'm 61 and would'nt want to be 20 again, 1968, I was ducking bullits & shit in some God forsaken land west of here. Love to remember the good times before & after though
Nice list of movies you've got there, but you've forgot one, Born to Run staring Richard Grieco, had some cool late night racing scenes in there, and some nice cars. Circa 93.
I graduated in 1962. No need to say how I fel about AG and that time. The movie, to my friends and I, captured the feeling and the feelings of the time as well as anyting before or since. I remember the first time I saw it like it was yesterday. About half way through my wife nudged me and said, "This is kinda erie, that is like it was." 'Nuff said. Frank
Yup,it was,I too came out of highschool in 62,just fore those that may think it was too corny or could not of been like that,I could add a lot of true extra things that would of been really cool stuff in a picture. All ways wondered why AG2 had so bad a script, when there so much stuff that would of been great to make a good AG2 about.
My friend, Steve Fitch, took the picture in his driveway in Wichita. I have a few more pictures of the 32 and the 55, when he brought it back to Kansas.
