I hope he has a speedy recovery. It make me think I'm 37 and you never know. Best of wishes and my prayers are with him and his faimly
I'm no doctor, but if he's getting some use and/or feeling back to the affected areas, I'd say that's a great sign. I've known quite a few folks who have gone through this. Those who had what you're describing had a full or near full recovery. I've been through heart issues of which I'm fully recovered. The cause for heart attacks are basically the same for strokes (in most cases). Take it from me, you can come back better than ever from these things.
Chin up, it's easier to see the sun that way. As others have said, make sure he follows his therapy plan.
God bless from the U.S. Marine Corps in jacksonville, NC. You are all in our prayers. Godspeed to your son for a quick recovery to 100%.
" Cast your cares on the LORD, and he will sustain you, he will never let the righteous fall". PSALM 55:22, from our family to yours. AMEN
Had one a long time ago, recovered...positive attitude and therapy are vital, sounds like he has that...hope for a full recovery.

Done, for your son, grandaughter...and you. Matt 18:19 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
Your family is in our prayers. We had a similar experience with our son in Dec 2008 so we know how you feel. Keep your chin up prayer works.
Thoughts and Prayers from my family to you and yours. Chin up, moving forward at any pace, a 10 year old little girl is counting on it. s.
Chin up! I'm 39 and going through a similar situation medically, not a stroke, but pulmonary embolism and plugged femoral artery. God isn't done with us yet bro, this is just a test. You are in my thoughts and prayers today and everyday I found myself blessed during my recovery to realize just how much time I had not spent with my family (always working) and I am thankful for every minute I have with them now, pain or no pain. Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present
Our prayers are with you! We lost our son a couple of years ago and our daughter had open heart surgery the same year! We can relate.
My prayers for your Son & Family. Family support is the most beneficial ingredient. He is Blessed to have that. Stay strong, he really needs you now. I also am a recovering stroke victim and Blessed with a Great Family. Without them, I don't think I would have left the Hosp. alive. http://www.stroke.org/site/PageNavigator/HOME has helped me a lot, I recommend it. Best Wishes & Prayers - Doug
