  1. Anybody ran a geiger counter over that limo? It may still be humming.

  2. LOL - you'd never be able to separate it from the radiation coming off the rivers and dirt. I can see Los Alamos from here, it's easy to spot with the green glow at night . . .

Glad I don't have dial-up, lol. I pulled into a field up the road from me the other day and found my future rod project. I just have to contact the owner, and see what's up. I'll be going back with the camera soon. Also further up the road are these two:

  16. I went to Austin Texas from Southern California last week for R.OT. (Republic Of Texas motorcycle rally) and I wish I had my camera handy. I could not beleive the cars that I saw just sitting in fields, by buildings that were falling down or just dumped. These were throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
If you're looking for a project car, take a drive down the I-10, bring a trailer and make offers. Maybe it's because I notice cars more than the avarage Joe but they seemed to be everywhere.

I was just at that yard by Kingman on the way back from Viva Las Vegas. About 5 years ago, the owner gave me a tour of the yard. So much great stuff there. Oddly enough, nothing has sold as far as I can tell in that amount of time. Everything is still there from 5 years ago. I'll see if I can get some pics up tonight. Must be quite pricey.......

whats the story on the red 59 viking 40 sitting next to the vert?

  24. Anybody around Dalton GA know what if anything is left at Arthur Richmond's place out in the Dawnville community? Arthur was well into his 90's when he died about 10-12 years ago. He had tons of neat stuff from the '20s-'50s, most of it too rusted out to save but still lots of good parts left. Arthur was the kind of fellow who, if he didn't like you, it didn't matter how much money you had to offer him. If he liked you, he was as likely as not to give you stuff for free. Things that would make Arthur like you included coming to see him and visiting with him when you didn't need anything (especially after his wife died), picking his brain with technical questions (the man was an absolute genius, and I mean genius in the strict technical sense of the term), and just listening to his stories (he knew some history on just about every car on the place). On the other hand, if you used the word "junk" or "junkyard" in his presence, he'd say, "If it's junk, why do you want it?" Anybody who used a word of profanity in his presence would be sent packing. Arthur liked me, got a lot of stuff for Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup from him, wouldn't let me pay him anything.

Drove by just the other day. Everything is gone (where the Chevy and Kaiser were) and the ground is bulldozed over. :(
