I am working on a 1951 Austin A40 Devon. The car had a 350/350 when i got it with Opel GT front suspension. However it was bottomed out, and not finished. It fell off a trailer before i got it and buckled the frame at the firewall (where firewall should be). I can't decide if I should try to splice my mustang II subframe into it, or have this frame straightened. Any suggestions are appreciated. [IMG]

I finely found some photo's of it… such as they are. Can't call it a hot rod in the traditional American sense, but it was a modified car. It ran a 1963 105E engine & 4 on the floor trans. And with that combo it was the terror of the Santa Cruz Mountains there for a while… or at least it felt like it… Well I had my fun at least!

The first photo is the way it looked just before I let it go. I was a high school kid (we're talking late 1960's early 70's here) with a very limited budget to spend on it. I bought it for $25.00 with the flat head engine in a box next to it. all told I think I only put $600.00 into it (not counting gas & regular maintenance). The flat black hood was something the off road racers were doing at the time to cut down on glare. The second photo is how it looked when I first got it. The last photo is the door panels I made from old fruit picking crates as were I grew up was at one time mostly orchards so their were allot of those crates around still in those day's. The head liner was a burlap bag. And yes that thing on the roof was a cheap home made sun roof (More like a hatch) hokey maybe but like I said I had my fun so I don't care!! May be it's just cause I was a kid… but to me I had such a good time with this eccentric car that this is the one that got away.

Bought this 59 Anglia in TN and had it flat bedded to Long Island NY where she is sitting now. All original and runs well. Not the greatest paint job but thats not my biggest worry. I was planning on doing a swap till I realized I couldn't afford it. Now I'm trying to sell her to someone who can afford to give her the attention she deserves.

It's not an Anglia and it's not from England. It is small and from Germany - is that close enough?

59 Opel Olympia Caravan. It's tubbed, strut front end, all on the budget. Has a Buick 350/350 combo w/mild cam. Still have to do the floors, fuel and brake systems and wiring. It's been a long time coming, I've owned it for 20 years and just now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Here's a shot while mocking up engine placemet and ride height before the front frame rails and suspension were installed.

Thanks! For this season, so far they're just letting us run the 1/8th mile at our home track, and the best time to date has been a 6.90 without the wheels in the air, otherwise about a 7.0. In the 1/4 mile, a 10.90, wheels down, otherwise about an 11.0

Yep! All we have to do is change the tires and put the headers back on and we can cruise where ever we want.

Another one. This belongs to a friend of my dads. He fixed us up with a 12 bolt rear for our '57 chevy wagon. It was featured in hotrod mag a few months back. Pics taken at goodguys, K.C., '08.
Can't enlarge the pics for some reason, sorry.

Yep, 'tis I. If your van is the one I think it is the rear doors came from me... Looks good BTW.

I miss my van and racing, but don't miss paying for it!
