Back in the seventies Bill Hines was doing some custom Corvairs 1/2 tops , suicide doors, scoops, the works. All of the work I saw was done in lead. Does anybody know the history of this one?

Not a Corvair fan, but I'm glad you saved this one. Will be a real attention magnet when it is finished. Please keep us posted on your progress.

  7. Well wheels are way up in the air at this point. Cragars, Starwires, Supremes . . . I do believe that the car will visit TJ for a "traditional" interior. And for now, the paint will stay as is until a fitting paint job is in the budget. I have an engine for it in a parts car.

Think I saw that car in one of those "rap" video's. Maybe it was Snoop Dog
    or some other fella?

I actually love that car. We like flashbacks, cause they're free man.

  14. HAHA!

Why do I now have the urge to go home and watch "Dazed and Confused"...

Please let us know how the paint has held up and throw down some better pictures...

i like it ....DONT change the paint.....Ernie:) :)

  19. That's pretty cool, if you ask me...although no one did. LOL. That paint is awesome. I'd be looking for a way to maybe buff it out, or even clean it up enough to shoot a fresh coat of clear over it? I don't know paint, but wonder if that would bring it back? I'm proud for ya....awesome score!

The only body damage i can see on that is the lower lip on the rear,it's pushed up.Hopefully there isn't severe damage to that lip.Hell,if I would have know,I would have gone and picked it up.I missed this thread.

  24. Well, according to my friend that looked at it, there's a few dents in the lower body, and very little cracking, so I think I lucked out on this one. This is still a dream until Saturday.
