went to a garage sale that a daughtetr was having after father passed. A few hours of digging later and I cam home with this.... Must thank son and nephew for doing the digging.
Was it really buried behind lots of stuff in a shed or barn? Did you take any pictures of it while it was buried? Looks like a pretty killer hauler you got there. Motor and trans still in it?
Yeah, it was buried. Broke the cable on the 9k winch. Had to snap strap it out after all the digging. Front axle was out of sight. Regretfully, I did not get recovery pic's. Lady was happy to know it wasn't going to scrap, which earlier a guy offered her $50 for it to scrap. Motor and trans are in the truck.
Here is a pic of what I believe is the distributor? I will openly admit that I do not know much about flatheads. I have never seen one like this. The other one I have at least looks like a front mounted one.
I have a request, could anyone provide info on this truck? I would really appreciate it. Again, as I have very limited knowledge about these. Thanks. Here's the door, I think this is cool....
Yeah it's normal for a 21 stud motor. No problems though, plenty of parts out there for them. Congrats on the great find.
Could also be a 41. They are styled similar to the Ford tractors of that era in my opinion. I like them.
Wow i went to about a jillion sales this week from zimmermann - anoka -andover -st. Francis , oak grove ,ham lake almost crossed over hiway 65... Some times some how i missed it .?????. Well... Way to go
That distributor was used '37-'41. '37 to early '38 flatheads were 21 stud, late '38 - '53 ('54 in Canada) were 24 stud.
Nah man, Zeke did it for me...........i'm a lone wolf...no club... But glad someone finally noticed.............my balls really do sag like that....
I have a pretty nice set of fenders that'll fit that truck. Found the correct sheetmetal for mine and I'm not going to be using the fenders. Maybe we could make a deal? Nice find! Tim D.
Wow you found that at a yard sale. The only thing at yard sales around here is stuffed animals and tupperware.Nice truck it would make a great restoration to drive around town lots of parts are available for the running gear.
That truck IS a 1940 Ford Regular Truck, dump should be 134" wheelbase, as evidenced by the hood side panels which have the "V/8" impressed at the front and "Ford" at the back. The engine has been changed to a 46-48 100HP engine which is a good improvement over the 85HP it had new.
