It's gotta be worth $500 just in entertainment value of having it sitting around.

I don't know much about it.
It was in LowRider mag a bajillion years ago and it did have some Astros or some sort of appropriate rollers. In fact there are some glory-years pics of that car somewhere on this very board......

  10. Not my style, but It would be cheap as hell to get a rusty donor car and throw some interior and an engine in that and have a really cheap and unusual custom...

If the paint is presentable, and no body damage...what the hell? why not for 5 bills? I cringe thinking of what was spent originally?

  11. That thing rules hard.

If it was up this way, I'd buy it. no joke.

For $500 I would not think it will last too long. If I had a place to store it, I would buy it. That would be a no-brainer. To me anyway, probably a different story for my wife.........

So that's what happened to the car that the Mariachi band that played at my sister's wedding drove up in.

  15. I have been trying to buy this car for 3 years. I already have 2 Corvairs, and this would perfect my collection. I have a trailer and space in my garage, but I just can't pull the skratch together. I'm gonna try and borrow some cash . . . . It needs to be preserved, not restored. I even have an engine for it!

  17. Well, I had a guy in AZ check it out for me. Everything looks like a go. I want to pick it up in the next week or so.

  18. If you drove up in that to someplace a bunch of potheads were hanging out, they'd think they were having a bad trip.

  19. Cool, you put the scratch together to pick it up then? Keep us posted.

A chopped car with a curved glass windshield, in place, and not cracked. Seems like a deal to me. Good luck with it Menacecustoms.

I would have no problem parking that thing in my yard. With the right wheels and tires, that thing would be even sweeter than it is now.
