How about aluminum valve covers with raised KETTERING POWER letters?

Tony......being an Olds freak (even though it's the later version), kudos to you and your efforts. I'm not intimately familiar with the front cover referred to, so bear with me. Can that cover be designed so as to use some other actual water pump, but still function as a front cover? I'm thinking of how the early hemi guys can use a big block Chevy pump with adapters. If it's doable, I'm for sure gonna change power in the Willys!!!!!! Chuck and the Geezers.

I have to concure with PAUL on this. Timing cover / oil pan I would also have to go with either the 4 barrel or blower manifold.

    Here's a thought.

I know the HAMB guys are gonna poo-poo the idea of a non-hamb-friendly item, but I'll run it by you anyway.

The Buick 350 guys have absolutely NOTHING in the way of performance parts. Only one aluminum intake from T/A performance, one sheet-metal intake from Burton Machine, and a handfull of cams... That's it... Literally! They cant even get forged pistons anymore.

It's a shame also because the buick 350 is an amazing engine. It's the longest stroke GM small block, the lightest GM SB by far! The best block design with a deep skirt and loads of extra re-inforcing built into it [because it was born out of the aluminum 215], and it has an indestructable crank! Infact, the 4V 350 made more torque than a Corvette 396 in 1970!

The ~legendary~ 231 Buick V6 is basically a 350 that's missing 2 cylinders... But there are just enough differences between the two motors that no parts directly innerchange.

To give you an idea of how tough the buick 350 is, one guy on V8Buick,com made over 1000 hp on pump gas with one, and it's held together beautifully for several years now.

Basically, what I'm saying is that the buick guys are SCREAMING for parts, but no-one is listening.... Might be worth checking out.... If there were some serious parts available for it, I'd be willing to bet it could be a serious contender in the hot-rod community because of all it has to offer.

How about a hot blonde that doesn't get jealous of all the time and money I spend on my car?

"AYE" on the finned oil pan. Doesn't someone make finned valve covers already? I guess the question is there are no baffle holes or something?

I would love to see this too.

Someone had mentioned a finned aluminum fuel pump block-off plate; what are people using now, as I have seen some of these on early Rockets? I am currently trying to source one. If I am not mistaken, won't one for a BB Chevy/BB Chrysler work?

Tony -- BTW, what's the deal w/ the aluminum heads? This is the first I had heard about them.

Yeah I like something like that for my 371. Mine are finned Offenhausers and could use an update.

Does the adapter work with both the 394 and the 371?

I know this is an ancient thread, but did anything come to fruition? I ask because I would dearly love to find an aluminum timing cover for my '51 Rocket
