I've got three rebuilt, ready-to-run Stromberg 97s for sale that nobody will fucking buy - not even at $700. ~Jason
You're suffering from a problem that many people do when they attempt to sell something that is "ready to go". So many guys have such a loose interpretation of "ready to go" that no one will believe that they are, even if that's the case. It's like buying a "rebuilt" engine---all too many times, that means new paint.
No doubt! I mean, they were even run for a few months, and nobody wants the damn things. Stuff like that is great for tradin', but bad for sellin'. Kinda sucks when you're pushed into the latter! But even I've told folks to go with 2Gs, or hell, even 94s for some applications. With 2Gs you can run 3 of 'em progressive on a larger V8, but the CFM restrictions on 97s (and the 94s) hamper that. 3 2Gs, and you're done. Although I AM quite partial to Stromberg WWs. ~Jason
abomination i would love to buy them if i had that kinda cash. i assume they are ready for a tri power. one with idle and choke. and the other two just the main's???
Actually, they have the chokes still on 'em. They stayed 'cause God knows what somebody's gonna want to do with 'em later, you know? They're just too damn small CFM-wise to run as a progressive 3x2 on the larger motors - and I'm not a big fan of running 'em direct (although some are, and nothing against 'em, it's just not my thing). ~Jason
My carbs are running rich black soot on the plugs when I adjust the idle mixture screws in to the stop the idle increases. help. 3x2 rochesters 2g on a 350 Chev
