I wanted to duplicate the lettering of my Grandfathers old carburetor / tune up shop that he had from the 40's to the late 60's on the side of my Falcon. I am planning on having it hand painted in the future but a co worker has a vinyl machine and was able to copy the lettering from an old piture that I had of my granfathers car wash he also had and it had a sign on it of his shop. It has worked out well to see how it looks and I will still have it painted on at some point but this works for right now. My grandfather gave me this back in the 80's and Dad and I took it from a stock 144 wth 3 on the tree to this. I plan on my son wanting to race this when he is old enough if he has the interest and that will be 4 generations involved with the same car.

I liked the way you mirrored the original sign.

Looking good Jon. I like the new hood as well.

My grandfather bought a body shop in the late 40's and it is still owned and operated by my uncles to this day. I've been wanting to have my car lettered with the shop sign for a while just like you did, just need to get the body up to snuff to advertise a body shop on the side.

That has got to be one of the best radius jobs on the rear wheel wells that I have ever seen.

Thank you very much, it has made it look alot different. I hope that the new engine will pull the wheels up like your Chevy II does. I will have to wait and see. thanks again for the remarks.

Very cool. I have pics of my great uncles garage signs that I would like to doa tribute to. I will look into the vinyl deal.

...and I also agree on the real wheel radius...they look great!
