Yep..., that's it. One of the best chops of a '41-'48 biz coupe I've seen so far.

Thanks for the photo, it made my day a little nicer!

Wow very nice pictures There was a couple of nice tail dragger coupes that were different 1 was a Packard I think and the other tan car had allot of old custom work that was very impressive.

I too looked it over. The profile is right on. I like everything about it 'cept the driprails being shaved off. I can see past all the funky sanded leftovers and such, can see it in a color, can't see it w/out the rails. To my eye the windows are fighting with the door edges and the profile. I love the car overall and hate to pick at it, but...

I get your point, and I usually advocate keeping the drip rails or some remnants of them, but this time..., no, I can't see that this particular car could benefit from keeping them.

However, I would like to see the door corner rounded with a larger radius, following the window opening, but that's just me nitpicking.

I remember having a discussion with Barris at a show several years ago, about the removal of the drip rails on Kustoms. I think we were talking about Mercs in particular, but the same would apply for any late 40's - early 50's style Kustom. He was saying, among other things, that removing the drip rails was 'manditory' on these cars to make 'em right.

    ...Straight from the horse's mouth.

  15. Awesome photo's for sure! I really felt I got a very good representation of that wonderful show right here on the HAMB!

Thank you very much for all the hardwork, editing and posting. It was well worth the effort and the show looked great.

  18. If it is painteed a dark color as it should be you won't even notice the door gaps. They stand out now because they are surrounded by bare metal.

Very nice Buick Custom, I heard it is ratstu's (Laurie) for Canada Customs and Hot rods. Hope to see it in person this summer.
