Nice looking collection of roadsters/trucks. There are several in the Houston /Spring area and old school type. Appreciate the post.

Looks great. What would you think of some short stakes and boards on the sides of the bed?

This one has the perfect top, stance, bed, hood, and over-all look. I love it! The only thing that would improve it is a paint job, IMHO. I'd paint it glossy medium-dark gray with black fenders. Keep the wheels just as they are. This is one of the best looking RPU's on here.

Narrator: "Early in the morning, down at the car show, we find our young hot rod hero wrestling with a deeply secret inner struggle..."

    Young hot rod hero:

    "MUST...

    RESIST...

    LIKING THIS...

DHAA! It's no use. I'm not strong enough."

Narrator: "Later that day, down at the TNHRA meeting...

Young hot rod hero: "Hi. My name is Bruce, and I'm a Tractor-Nosed-Hot-Rod-A-holic."

Large crowd of people: "Hi Bruce."

Tune in next week as we hear our hero say, "You know, I don't care that it's made fun of. There's something about red tires against a black car that really looks good."

Can he fight off the hordes? Can he resist the peer pressure? Can he stand to be called names or will it break his bones? Find out next week! Same bat-time, same bat-channel!

  9. The grille on mine is a 36 De Soto Airflow. ( wish I had a dollar for every time I've answered that question)

  10. I built this one 5 years ago by shortening up a 2 door sedan about 4 foot, cutting the top off, and building the top and bed from scratch. I have driven it as my "daily driver" every summer for 5 years now. The cab is 6" longer than a stock model A roadster pickup, and the bed is 18" shorter, but I am still on a 103.5" wheelbase. I am heading to the Atlantic Nationals in July---2500 mile round trip.---Brian

Stoked to have found this thread:)
    I heart RPU's!
thanks for sharing the pics fellas,
    cab

  25. A few nice ones, but you've got a pretty poor understanding of the expression 'HAMB friendly'

Tony Thomas built the red one in the 80's Dean, real nice guy, big into nostalgia drags these days.

    (any relation VV?)

  26. X38, no relation.

Also, I didn't see the words 'HAMB friendly' at the beginning of this topic. All I saw was 'Roadster Pickup.....picture thread', so that's what I put on - pictures of roadster pickups.
Maybe you need to specify at the top of each topic what you'd like to see, so that we all know.

    Cheers.

    HAMB friendly.

  28. NOT HAMB friendly.

This is a site for traditional hot rods and customs. Not street rods, bling billet, tribal flames, 20" wheels etc. Simple enough.

OK, so I usually call it a modified, but when it suits me I can call it a RPU. There's no bed but I'm not tired anyway
