Friend of mine just got a dream job working at a hi-end Classic car sales and service facility in N.E. Ohio. Anywho, was looking over the inventory and didn't see too much that tripped my trigger. (I'm so over 6 figure muscle cars!) Did see this 54 Crestliner and thought it was pretty cool. Guess the purple is an acquired taste, but wondered what you Kustom fella's thought of this high priced bucket-o-bolts.?? Personally, wouldn't have a problem parking it in my garage. But would feel guilty that I didn't screw it together. http://inventory.bestofshowautomotive.com/CarDetails.asp?VIN=CN10114
It is a beautiful car, definitely needs a good home. I'd hate to see it go to a "chainer" that keeps it a trailer queen... If it was mine...I'd drive the crap out of it!!
It's a narrowed '65 Wildcat roof with '67 Camaro glass. http://inventory.bestofshowautomotiv...sp?VIN=CN10114
If you saw the car in person, you would see the quality build that it is...the price is not out of line.
This car was built by a HAMB member, I remember seeing updated pics of the build as it progressed. The metalwork is top notch, especially for such a radical custom. Personally I love it, I would only have to scrape the sticker off the rear quarter window and I'd be ready to go. The design doesn't utilize anything newer than the 60's as far as I can tell, but I think if this would have been built in the 60's it would have been revolutionary.
I was thinking the same, can't remember the builder though. The car was finished not so long ago. --mika
yea... the guy had a shop do all the body mods from what i remember, but he was 100% hands on in the design and asthetics. the renderings he posted before most of the work was done were almost EXACTLY how the car came out in the end, color included. i remember reading the initial thread(s) and was in awe at the amount of metalwork and the quality of it.
I like it a lot,but it looks too nice and big bucks for a driver. Or,were you just going to trailer it to shows? Ernie
Rick, Thanks for the info and glad all you hooligans liked it. I'm a firm believer that, builds like this can be used to help us all take our projects "up a notch!" Glad to hear he was involved in the construction. But either way, hats off to those whom screwed it together. Color combo is growing on me. Notice the treatment to the headliner and trunk...very cool! Upholstry under the hood is both bad-ass and daring! Please pass the Angel Hair! JT
If I had the coin I wouldn't have a problem paying it for a car that was built with such talent and skill and such quality work. The upholstry under the hood is a bit much for me but other than that I think its a bad ass custom.
Its a well done car but i think it would benefit from its original roof, but chopped, with a nice chrome bumper on the front. maybe some teeth in the grille IMO
x2 on the roof, dosen't look right to me (square roof on a round car) but the rest of the cars pretty sweet.
saw this car at Sacramento autorama one year very nice car , nice guy keith gave me a signed poster of the car ,and talked about the car and some of the mods he did ,very nice attention to detail and craftsmanship...
