    Alright, I'll play too:
    1946 Studebaker M-5
1953 Studebaker Radical custom - Dad's and I need to finish
    1961 Jaguar MK9 saloon
1962 Studebaker GT Hawk - wifes - I need to finish
    1964 Studebaker Daytona Wagon
    1967 Ford F-100 shop truck
1978 GMC 3/4 for scrap - got wrecked
1979 Jaguar XJ6 - for suspension parts and then scrap
1979 MG roadster - wifes daily
1981 Ducati Darma - one owner - ME
    1986 Jaguar XJ6 - My daily 283,000 miles

I need to get the parts Jaguars gone! That would make more room for something a little more interesting.

I had 40 at one time, got down to 31 now back up to 37. I only have a 1/3 acre city lot and hide them all on site. 17 vintage dirt bikes, 3 Divcos, 3 three wheel micro trucks, 35 Ford truck, 2 Ford F150's, 2 RV's, boat, 3 trailers, VW, 3 Morris Minors, some donor cars and I can get away with this as long as the wife can park her Mustang in the garage. I would probably have as many as Crashfarmer if my family stayed in Oklahoma and still had the farm. Too many toys... I think not!

  16. I have 5. How many is too many? Ask the neighbors, the Mrs. or Al Gore.
Ya get what ya can get and take care of all ya got and enjoy them responsibly.
    Like beer.
My newest is a '99 GMC and is in the shop the most. My oldest is a '69 Custom S
and rarely gives me any trouble. Both have close to 160,000K on the "O"
tho the '69 did get an overhauled (.030 over) at 108K (well before I owned it.)

  17. i have at least 11, and my brother has a few more then that, but we live on a farm so lucky that way, some arent in great shape but at least they are not being crushed

Well, I just traded eleven cars for three, so I'm down eight..counting the stash at Eddies in S.A. and the five at my Dads house..35? no wait, the renters left me two, and Rueben and I are going into phase two of our epic trade. Hes got a 40 Studebaker sedan I want. The sister in law has the loaner Honda, and I'm probably not getting it back till I fix her mini-van, the other SIL has a dead Volvo, I could probably build at least one Metropolitan from that parts pile..Brian told me the other day his wife said get the MGB out of the garage or I'm going to roll it out in the street with a free sign.. its too complicated...

  19. I have 10, but I sold 4 and bought one last year. So I am thinning the heard.

    Probably too many...
    Daily driver 2002 Ram
    '69 Plymouth GTX
    '37 Packard 115c
    '58 Chevy 3100 pickup
    Wife's junk
    daughter's junk
    other daughters junk
I would still like to build a '32 3 window coupe

  22. Eight,

    1983 Pontiac Bonneville daily driver.
    1975 Chevy plow truck
    1966 Chevy Belair Wagon
    1962 Chevy Belair wagon
1941 Chevy 2 dr sedan radical custom
    1932 Willys Overland Rod
    1930 Ford Model A project
    1926 Ford Model T project

So my newest is a 83' and plan on making that even older in the future. Eight is probably too many but i have to do something when i retire. Thinking for me a good number would be four.

  23. ahhhhhhh i have a few but no old ones are lic'd
daily is a 1997 holden ute
spare daily is a 96 holden sedan
    54 chev sedan
54 chev sedan- bad dent in side from bulldozer
    53 chev sedan
48 chev truck- cutting it down to a pickup
    humber super snipe sedan
    ah120 inter ute
    ah120 truck
    j series bedford truck
46 ford pannelvan- more rust than metal
ahhh and then about ten more cars that are in bits or are parts cars. oh and i'm hoping to buy one or two more, so i can get one on the road.

  24. I own 3, wife owns one, plus a company car. I'd like to get the wife's SUV and my winter beater combined into one reliable vehicle and that would be enough for me. Not enough space for more....not enough money to buy more space!

    Update anyone?

When I last posted in this thread I determined I was spending too much time managing parts cars and not enough time on projects. This list is updated showing changes and I think some improvement over the last couple of years.

Earlier I counted 22 including one that didn't belong to me, but lived here and three that do belong to me and don't live here. Today I count 19 so the number has improved a little. There are no longer any stored at my place that aren't mine, but I now have four of mine stored at a friends. I'm not sure the neighbors even notice the difference.

    4 Legal Drivers
2009 Volkswagan Jetta that replaced my 2000 Subaru Outback (wife's driver)
    1985 Corvette (my driver)
    1991 Chevy K2500 (trailer puller/bad weather driver)
1955 1st GMC Suburban (drivable project)

I've completely ignored my daughter's driver but I have no financial interest in it and her presence in our home is very temporary.

I'm down one driver from before with my son's '72 C10 moved from driver to parts. I condemned a very rusty truck the same time he decided to move to the other side of the country.

    5 Active Projects
1954 GMC 1-ton (hot rod trailer puller) (y) (avatar)
1954 Chevy 3100 going on an S-10 and looking like a '54 GMC when finished.
    1949 Chevy 3100 5-window (wife's hot rod project) (y)
1951 Chevy COE (COE Suburban Cargo project) (j) long-term hold because I'd rather base it on a '54 GMC and I don't have that COE yet.
1947 Chevy COE (doesn't everyone need two COE projects?) (j)

    Probably Parts trucks...
1972 Chevy C10 (was son's driver until he left home) (j)
    1953 GMC 2-ton (j) (runs)
    1952 Chevy 2-ton (y) (runs)
    1951 Chevy 1-1/2 ton (y) (runs)
1979 Chevy P30 (COE running gear donor) (y) (runs)
1989 Chevy K3500 (running gear donor) (y) (runs)
    1951 Chevy 1-ton panel (y)
    1953 GMC Suburban (y)
    1987 S-10 (frame donor) (s)
    1955 GMC 1-ton (s)

That's 11 in my yard or shop, four in Jeff's yard ignoring the drivers, which all set outside most the time.

This are still too many, based on the fact I've not gotten much done over the last few years, because I am still busy managing the collection of rusty junk.

I was making better progress but have been sidelined by health issues since last fall. I do believe parting out the parts vehicles and restricting additions to the project list will help me get some projects done when my health allows!

My conclusion remains one guy can have too many if they are keeping him from doing the projects he really wants to accomplish. Ignoring my health issues I've too many parts trucks to manage to get my projects done.

I still have too many cars.

    1 daily driver
    1 work / hauler truck
    1 hot rod running
    Optional:
    1 project
    1 parts car for project
    1 race car
1 parts car to fund the other projects
1 buddy's car that youre storing - (may include parts car)
1 extra car that you are pullling the drivetrain out of - when you have some time
1 great deal car that you couldnt pass up - will ebay or part out when theres time

The list goes on and on. minimum 2 cars, daily and truck can be combined. Or if youre real savvy you could have a daily - hot rod - truck and get to one.

One car and three MC in this one,

Those don't include the back yard or the OT daily drivers (3).
All but three run and drive.

I still have room for the F.E.D. too!

  30. Someone may have already said it, but I think the real question is how many running VS. non running cars do you have...

    Running -

    2003 GMC - my truck
    2001 Jeep - wifes POS
1987 Monte Carlo SS - my garage art...I'd drive it more if it got better than 5 MPG...

    Non - running -

    1968 Firebird
    2- 1970 GTO's
1978 Trans Am ( Yeah, I have a Pontiac thing...)

Currentely searching for something old & cool.

PS - do boats & bikes count ?
