My 56 210 gasser. ,Metal flake paint and interior just pops in the sun! 489 big block chevy moves it thru the 1/4 mile at 10.45 at 126 mph. This is sooooo much fun to drive, watching people almost crash staring at this car. I never thought when I built this it would attract so much attention. It handles like a farmall tractor would at 60. Thats what separates the men from the boys. Gassers forever!!!
That is BADASS!My wife wants me to turn our wagon into a gasser if she see's this she will flip!Nice!
Awesome machine!! Not sure why it handles so bad though. Seems like you should be able to dial that in. Love the paint job and the awesome launch!
Love it! '56's are my favorite. There's an identical one on the Drag Cars in Motion thread, launching next to another cool '56 - did that one inspire yours? Anyway, congrats on nailing the look and the performance. Hope you dial in the front suspension before you hit something - too cool of a car to bend up. Scotty
I know exactly what you mean about the rubberneck looks from people and about the farmall tractor handling... but a little time behind the seat, you'll be a pro! Sweet ride! I had a gasser 39 Studebaker on the street awhile back - I sure miss that car more than any other I've had.
I like '56's the most, probably cause this is the first one I remember (42 years ago)! Can't wait to get it finished. My brothers and I have vowed to come back to some of the Thompson Reunions and race with you guys. You've got a bitchen car, helping bring back the "Gassers"!
Nice 56! When I had a '56 people would often say "nice '55 or nice '57" I would tell them its a '56 and then they would have the nerve to ask "I bet you wish it was a '55 or '57?" I hated that!
My guys "East Coast Gassers" race there every year. Im a club member for 4 years and its so much fun!
