I have access to a good mid or early 80's Chevy 350 4x4 for 50 bux. Actually my brother wants me to take the whole truck for that price. It has a cooked T350 auto trans. I have a 94 1500 2wd with a 4.3 auto. The 4.3 is giving me fits with all this electronic stuff and costing me an arm and a leg. The question I have is: Can the 94 auto trans be mated up with the earlier 350? This is the combo I've found that fits my wallet to go into my 31 AA. I know I'll have to have a drive shaft fabbed. Thanks guys.

  2. any transmission that will bolt to a 4.3 chevy V-6 will physically bolt up to a 350.....provided you use the correct flexplate. but i'm not sure if a `94 tranny will work without a computer? what tranny is it.....700R4? that can be made to work without a computer , but the others like 4L80E needs one. the transmission guys on here will know for sure

Thanks Old School. It's just a plain jane 94 1500, 4.3 Vortec 2 wheel drive. It does have air, radio and heater. nothing else. no OD. I hate computers, FI and all that new stuff. Give me a carb and a set of points anytime. Maybe an HEI if I carry spare parts. It it does break down on the road, at least I can fix it enough to get home.
