the blue with silver roof looks great. I'd keep the front bumper on

the last pic the best, love the blue and sliver but the wide whites just set it off.

  3. Me and the painters talked last night and picked out color chips. Gonna be sweet. Once we started holding up chips, we made a slight change. Still going to be that aqua marina tone for the blue and we're changing the roof to a pearlescent white with some blue and silver tones and hues to it. This one was decide by all to be the money combination. Tear down begins in a couple weeks. :)

Good choice on the color scheme. I really like the idea of a knob grille on this car. While I think the bumper is fine on it now, it would be great to see the entire opening. So, from the "what the hell" files, I decided that you might be able to have it both ways. Fab some kind of "bumperettes" out of a donor bumper (I agree it needs something there to keep the flow) and make a full knob grille. Gettin' tired of it? Put the full bumper back on, and remove some knobs. Here's a quick, less than perfect photochop to give you a visual. Great job so far, I'm lovin this car.

It is really cool to see that there are more Valiants out there that are getting the "makeover" they deserve. My son and I did the custom thing to my wife's Great Aunt Betty's Valiant wagon. We picked it up from her estate sale. I hope Aunt Betty can dig it too.
Nice work so far on your project.

Should be back at the shop in a couple weeks ....

  9. Yep, no new pictures as of yet, but I heard from the body gurus and they were prepping the outside of the car over the weekend. I'll try to get some pics, or sneak over there and get some pics. :D I know the quality of work that Jeff and Brian do and I'm over the top excited based of what I've seen just this far. It's gonna be a knockout when it's done. :)

  10. Progress is going along very well. Car is all jammed up and halfway thru blocking. Should see some color in the next few days... :)

Looks good, moving right along. Glad you're not shaving the handles.

  20. Well, got the call today. Jeff was nice enough to come let me drool and take some pics after a fresh 3 coats of clear. Once cured, it's time for final wet sand and buff. I'm trying not to drool on the keyboard as I type... :D

Looks great, Scotty. The next step is to scratch it when you're putting the chrome back on...once you get that first scratch out of the way, you won't feel as guilty driving it!

You guys are wicked fast; I've spent a year and a gallon and a half on bondo on my blocking and 99% of it is in my lungs.

That color makes standing up in a crowded room embarrassing for me!
