Paul- I was just about to post this and was on the phone confirming it when you posted.I work for the same company (National Grid) as he did and was at the same yard-Roslyn for 10 years. He would drive the 39 to work occaisionaly and thats how we connected. He was certainly a hardcore hot rodder! My wife & I would always see him&Luann at almost every show, like at York,Rhinebeck,RoadAgents,Hershey and Brentwood here on LongIsland where he showed the 32 last year. There was mention of the 32 in Hopup a while back,it sounded like they were going to feature it in the future.I know he drove the 39 to Bonneville & Ca,and many other shows in other states.Details are skechy at this hour & no info on wake yet.We will really miss him.

I cannot believe what have just read.......Jake and LouAnn were two of my very best hot rod friends.........I have known Jake for about 8-9 years and he has been a wonderful guy to hang with at car events...........I am speechless.........we have been together at many Rockabilly RUMBLES up in Connecticut and out in California......

This is just crushing........Lou Ann, please know that I am thinking of you and holding you and Jake in my heart.........I am just devastated......

Jake, my good friend, may you be in a better place......I think I need to cry.....

I keep a picture in my assembly room of his coupe and a shot of louann and jake to remind me what hotrodding is really about.

I received this from Chuck Vranas last night.

    Hi Paul,
I've attached two images that I also had on file of Jake's car taken at the
last Ty-Rods. I'd be honored if you could include them for me on the HAMB
posting. Kim and I are both at a loss for words. Such sadness today
    remembering such a great man.
    Chuck

Horrible news. A nicer guy you will never meet. Jake and Lu were the best ambassadors to the hot rod world. They would be at every show and always stop and say hello. Jake would always have that big grin on his face. I'm going to miss that guy. Lu you are in my thoughts, I'm so sorry for your loss.
