best role he ever did was the captain. I work at the plant where they made the Maule that landed in the square, work with the guy who painted it, and friends of mine who used to work there were some of the extras who ran across the street when it landed. Always loved the movie, He was great!! We need more nuts like him. Who will protect the crazy people now?
It's a sad day, for sure...He and Burt Reynolds did one of funniest schticks I ever saw in a movie, can't recall the name, where Reynolds makes him swear to kill him if he dosen't go through with his planned suicide? Chased him all over the place, trying to kill him, Reynolds trying to call the deal off, funny as hell...He really made me laugh, something I don't do alot of these days...RIP...
The out takes of Captain Chaos are the best. He knows his lines before he says them and starts laughing too hard to say them. He always reminded me of Red Skelton, neither had to try real hard to make you laugh.
here are the end of the movie outtakes, i love it when Dom and Burt are cutting up and Jack Elam just opens the ambulance door and stares. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvHTeNThAo0
"Theres no need to fear ,Him ! is here" Great to see a Thread where everyone has something nice to say
He was one of the good guys, had more funny in his pinky then ten of these modern foul mouth "comedians" .some people just have a natural talent or are just hysterically funny being themselves. he fell into both of those.
