is humidity a factor when painting?

    HI
    wanted to paint my car this weekend at home in garage,syn enamel paint. its been raining a lot and is supposed to for next 4 days off&on. is there any drawbacks to painting when the humidity is high?

    I've never had any problems. Actually the rain keeps the dust down. I spray mostly base/clear or acrylic urethane, synthetic enamel should be alright too.

    Depens on how much,but yes,I never spray when rainning here in Fla.

    I actually prefer to paint while it's raining.....less dust and bugs in the air. But then, I'm in the NW where if ya wait for it to STOP raining, you'll never get anything done...haha!

    When I painted at home I always sprayed after it rained because of the less bugs and dust kicking around. But hurry to get it back in.LOL

    I hate to say this but i've painted in my garage bay after wetting the floor down

    I'd be more concerned about moisture in the compressor, lines, and gun.

    Only if your painting lacquer. Humidity will make it blush.

    oh course, you need a moisture trap between the 25 foot hose and rhe 50 ft hose as well as a plastic one at the end of the gun and a clearing of the moisture in the tank by means of unscrewing that tank screw on the bottom for a half a minute
