Man, thank you all for the kind words. I really thought my friends were teasing when they said my name was being called in the arena, and then I still couldn't understand it, being sort a long work in progress type of project and all, but Steve and Angy and Mr. Bleed Sr. were over there, and they said just say thank you, so I listened to them.

I wanna sorta set the record straight, because I'm getting too much credit for working on my car, when really I do what I can and try to learn, but if it weren't for the help of what feels like just about everyone I know, I wouldn't be on the road. Special thanks to Lux (and Debra!) for the last minute inspiration.

And no, my 59 isn't the one with the beautiful Fat Lucky interior. That belongs to a gentleman in town, and I try to park really far away from him when he has his car out. Now that's a beautiful ride.

Anyway, thank you all again for the kind comments. Sure means a lot to me.

Congrats, I wasn't really a big El Camino fan that is until I saw yours parked across the street from the South Austin Speed Shop. I stopped dead in my tracks and made a v-line to your elkie, shes purdy .

Hey did anybody else notice BOB,SR. trophy didn't have an L in Lone star.So I guess he'll be known as the ONE STAR ROUNDUP lol..........

 

For those of you who don't know her (and I don't know her well), what makes her accomplishment even sweeter is that she isn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and dig into the dirty work herself. I know for a fact she busted her knuckles and mangled many a nail sweating it out to make this rig as badass as it as today. You rock, girl and so does your Elky. Kudos, Laura.
