What do you want to know? It belongs to a friend of mine, but I don't think he does anything but lurk on here. I saw it built.

  3. thanks for the quick reply, just trying to track down some details for our magazine - running gear, owner, anything would be great. cheers

The 55 is mine, it was at the HAMB drags
The car is a 150 sedan that I built from a hulled out body, I removed the stock frame from the steering box forward and added two by four tubing, mounted an old chrome straight axle that I found at a swap meet it uses econoline spindles. I use a 65 mustang steering box moved in front of the axle and cross steer.
The rear suspension is stock 55 springs with traction bars, a 62 Olds rear axle with 31 spline and 5:38 gears and a poor boy locker.
The motor is a .030 over 454 with a crane roller, vertex magneto ,weiand tunnel ram and two 850 double pump holleys, the transmission is a Muncie M22 rockcrusher with a hurst shifter and an Eelco handle.
The interior is pretty bare no headliner or carpet has lightweight black rolled door panels and a pair of Hemi Dart bucket seats that are super light. It has S/W greenline gauges and a Superior the "500" wheel, A six point rollcage all the side glass is lexan and the quarter windows don't roll down on 55 150's
I painted the car and did all the body work, rear 1/4s are radiused and it has a glass
frontend that is also a period piece from the late sixties. The wheels are all magnesium and fronts are spindle mount with no brakes.
My name is Doug Hakey I'm owner operator of Vintage Speed and Color, where I do custom paint and restoration
If you need any other info feel free to pm me and thanks for your interest
    Doug

Thanks guys I'm getting it ready for racing again this year and hope to make it to the track soon. The car was pretty fresh at Hamb drags last year and still had some bugs. I've ran a best of 11.82@ 110mph in quarter and have clutch issues. Should get better times this year once I get everything working correctly.
I'm planning to be injected on alcohol sometime this year maybe by Hamb drags '09

SWEEEEEET ride! How come I am just now finding this old thread?!?!

Would love to see some shots of the white 55 sitting next to it and the 57 with the similar grille as well.
