I was wondering.... Is it possible to, or has anyone air bagged the stock front suspension on a 53 belair? Pull the coils and replace with bags? I know I could cut the coils, but why be normal. I dont want to go with mustang 2. Stock 235 and bags. What do ya think? Thanks, Fuzz
http://www.lowridermagazine.com/tech/0603lrm_cheap_air_bag_suspension/plasma_cutter.html I have a friend who did this. The bags are very close to rubbing, but there's enough room all round. Worked out well for him.
There many threads out there but this one has to be the most informative....... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152076
fuzzyktu-Instead of just wondering, do some serious searching here before starting up a new thread. Lots of info posted on 50's Chevys suspension
evil1 has a bagged 53 or 54 with stock bagged front suspension you may want to contact him. He's been bagging cars and trucks for a long time.
I put a 1986 Jaguar front clip under my 50. Its easy to do, you get good brakes and power steering. I've also bagged it.
