  1. Joey Saltalamachia's "Salty's Shaker is restored (as needed) and is very respectfully shown in the North Jersey area by it's current owner.

Doug ... Did they (AMT) ever offer a 'Monster Mash' kit? And speaking of Five Fives ... was Ferd Napel's 'Storming Bull' (ever) a M/P car, or was it always a gasser?

    Yep,
Once again NHRA tried to have a class for a dual purpose car. Once again it was taken over by hard core racers. At the end of class, if you didn't have a car that left the line at 10,000 rpms and shift at around 12,000 rpms, you didn't stand much of a chance. Looking for a place for the little guy to compete, NHRA went to a dial your own format. Look what a fiasco that's turned into now!

It's hard to picture "Da Grump" in a Mopar, but it's true.

Some one mentioned that most of the MP pictures were of Chevys. There were probably more Chevy racecars than any other make, but there were LOTS of Mopar and Ford MP's in the 60's/70's around here.

"......Bill Grumpy Jenkins very 1st NHRA National win came in this Hemi powered "Black Arrow" 1965 Plymouth S/SA car, and it was was his only national event win in a non-Chevrolet product. Jenkins drove this to the Stock Eliminator win at the 1965 Winternationals,....."

Most remember Bruce Larson from his USA-1 Chevelle Funny Car days but prior to that Bruce drove this beautiful little Cobra in Sports/Production.

no model, just a decal set produced by fred cady, who is out of buisiness. But you can score decals from ebay for less than 10 bucks from "msmiteymouse" ebay seller..

You can quote what you want but that picture is of "Doc Burgess" in the black arrow!!You can even see his name above the black arrow logo on the door!!
He was (might still be) a Vet in wingdale or paterson NY.I know the car.
go to www.doverdragstrip.com & you'll see a dozen or so pics of it.
How about a hand here Dino??llol

That picture might be of Burgess, but I still think it's the car that Jenkins won his first national event in. The next year Jenkins went to a little motor/light car (327 Chevy II) and really dealt the class misery.

It's Doc's car Jim, but Grump drove it at the U.S.Nationals to a A/MP win. The first photo I posted was from the November 65 Hot Rod and here's one from Super/Stock & DI from back then. But you're correct, it is Burgess' car but Grumpy was driving that day.

Any idea who owned the car and where in the Maritimes he's from Pete? That photo is from a big pay-out race at Mohawk Dragway in Ontario in 1966.

X Gasser, nice ride, one of my all time favorite Chevies was the 66/7 Chevelles.I noticed you're in Carrollton, and wondering if you were around there in the 60s? If you were, ever remember 2 black 66s know as "Hellfire" and "Brimstone" ?

Have a question for you guys that were into MP,didn't NHRA have a class called Modified Stock? Was thinking that that class took over MP,I've seen photos of that class, and wasn't sure where it came in.
