I just brought home my 9inch and it looks too narrow for my app. I have a banjo out of a '46 Ford 1/2ton pickup now. With the tires on theres only about 3/4" - 1" between the tire and the body. The 9inch is out of a '70 Bronco. Can anyone help my find out what the hub to hub measurments for both axles are? I dont have anybody to hold the other end of the tape.
Solution: Remove both wheel from the rear. Get a paint stir from HomeDepot and snug it down finger tight between using a lug turned upside down. Now that paint stick will stick out beyong the brake drum and be parallel with the axle flange. Do the same thing on the other side with another paint stick. Now measure outside to ouside from the edge of the paint sticks and subtract the thickness of the two paint sticks.
yeah, not a big fan of wheel spacers. I cant justify spendin over 100bux on a chinzy aluminum ring with holes drilling in it. Besides that, MOST OF EM ARE BILLET!
The one you have now is right at 61.25" hub to hub. If your clearance is too close now, one option is a 9" from 73 up F100/150. They're about at 3" wider, giving you an extra 1.5" per side.
