If you paint a car a base coat/clear coat and put flattening agent into the clear coat do you still have to wet sand and buff when you are done?

If you have orange peel in the clear, you can still wet sand. You can apply a few coats of the flattened clear then sand till smooth.

No. Matter of fact you can't buff. Buffing the flattened clear will put the shine back into it. You can sand out any imperfections and reshoot it, but it has to be right when it comes out of the gun.

The good thing about the flat clear is that dirt/trash in the paint won't be very noticeable. You don't need to spray the flat clear as heavy as normal either. A couple of medium coats and you should be good, remember the more clear you put on the shinier it will get.
