If it was mine, I'd buff the paint, cut the coils, install 3" blocks and clean the car spotlessly.. I'd prolly go with chrome reversed wheels on black tires with baldy caps...I don't much dig whitewalls...sorry. And I'd definetely ebay the visor! I'll no doubt be in the minority here.
I love the visor...original aftermarket lol...this is my real rod so its going to be a process..I was thinking bags but that is really expensive so cutting the coils sounds like a wonderful idea
Ditch the visor...wide whites and skirts blocks in the back cut a coil or two in the front and drive it!
and if anyone know where i can get a back glass that would be extremely helpful...all input is appreciated this is my first take on a car of this magnitude and I really want something that nobody has ever seen...i love to be different...thanks
Lose the visor. Cut the coils, slam it and then drive it. Put some miles on it and work on it as you enjoy your ride. Nice car. Has tons of potential
do you guys think they make lowering springs??? that is probably a stupid question so where do I get them
I inherited my Dads 47 Dodge coupe in 1956. and it was a short hood version of your Chrysler. It was a good cruiser and I never even thought about driving it anywhere, as it had taken us all over and never gave us any problems. Drive it, nothing like a big old car.

Me too, shit can the visor and drive it. Is it a straight 8 or a 6? My Dad had one like it (maroon) when I was a little scutter. I took the cigarette lighter and burned little circles all over the plastic dash. Really pissed him off. I wasn't but about 5 or 6. We went on vacation to CA from MO in that Chrysler. His was a Windsor so had a 6 in it.
they look good dropped a little, doesnt havto be on the ground, too low and they get to be a pain to drive. cut a coil in front and some lowering blocks on the rear. A split manifold and dual pipes make em sound good. Don,t try to go to radical you will see it doesnt take much to look better. These cars were roomy and comfortable. they are impressive with that long hood.Not many Chrysler coupes were made, most were sedans.
go to the imperial club website for lots of mechanical technical and repair tips. Get it mechanically sound, brakes and transmission may be problematic, but they are easily adresses. If you get into the engine, milling the head for more compression is the biggest bang for the bucks thing to d and easy also. If it has been sitting for a while, you might have some stuck valves, they may loosen up after some running, if not you are gonns need to pull the head anyway so it s good time to take it to the machine shop. I believe it cost me 40 bucks to get mine milled .050. I kinda like the visor, but might like to see it adjusted at a bit less angle. Back galss might be hard to find as it might be unique to the Club Coupe. Dodge, and Desoto shared body stampings from the cowl back so you might be able to source it from those brands, as they probably built more club coupes then Chrysler. That look like a nice solid car, good luck with it. so is it a 6 or 8??? Check in with the folks over at P15 D24, good mopar flathead forum, and several chyrsler owners there.
Assuming the front end is simulat to the Plyms & Dodges, there are shock relocation kits for better efficientcy & disc brake kits. Loose the visor!
