new wheels, pic inside

picked these up off a customer for $20. what are they? no discernable markings on them anywhere. the guy says they were on his grandfathers '66 fastback mustang years ago. im thinkin' this is the start of my model a project right here.

 

Neat looking wheels. Did you just get two or a whole set of four? If just two these would make super rears and look for something gasser style for the front. BTW, what size are they?

just the two rears, theyre 15x9". thats exactly what i was thinking, pair if somethin' skinny for the front, and some pie crust cheaters or maybe a whitewall cheater on this model a roadster i have. whatever i end up doing it will be crazier than my '52 4100...

 

nobody knows what these wheels are?

 

They look to me like an early ET wheel, like an ET III, especially if they have a little dip in the bottom of each spoke. If that fit on a Mustang then I would say the bolt pattern is 4.5"-4.75" with the elongated slots.

 

ill wash 'em up and get a better pic up today.

 

Great score. Certainly ET style wheels.

 

For original ET's on the front, you'll find a dozen 14"ers for every narrow 15" size you find. But good luck searching.

 

Any markings on the back of them?

 

you know their aftermarket because unilug. Look like ET's to me also

 

i like the billet wheel's that have the flames cut into the billet, your's suck!-------not realy those are whayso cool.

Sure they're not 14's? They are definitely ETIII's but with that window style they would be the 14x7's - the 15's had a more square window. Having said that, I think I remember hearing somewhere that Wheel Centre did build these in 15" with this style window but in VERY limited numbers - confirm the size for us . . .

15x9or 9.5" no markings whatsoever. markings are a poss inside. wont know till i dis mount them.

Look like Ansen brand that I ran in the early 70's.

 

Look like ET-III's with the washers. When the washer hole is in the center the bolt circle is 5 on 4.75. Thwe washer with the offset hole makes 5 on 4.5 on e way and 5 on 5 the other way. If the wheels are 15" ET's they will be 15X7.75 or 15X8.5. The latter size is extremely rare. Remember, you measure wheel width inside the beads, not outside. Backspace on the 7.75" width wheel is 3.75, on the 8.5" wheel backspace is 2-15/16"
