just stick a 3.50 or so in it and you'll be fine. weed out the people blowin sunshine up your butt (or thier own) and listen to the people that are trying to help you, geniuses or not. non of us are. good luck on your truck...ive allways had the early f100's but am looking to trade my old, rough hotrod 54 panel for a 58 short bed. just havent found the right one. these sites as well as the late 50's one have helped with ideas.

Here is my moms 65 half ton, 352FE. Been in the family since 1970, the dually kit is an original JC Whitney kit with fiberglass fenders.
Tattedfordguy-

The front of my truck has the dropped straight axle 3". I didnt touch too much more of it. I tried to leave as simple as possible and original (other than having disc brakes up front that is).
did you buy a drop axle and if so, where did you get it?
    thanks

Dropped axles, reversed eye leafs and all that good stuff can be had from Sacramento Vintage Ford it sets you back about $450 a pop for axle or springs.

It has a camaro front clip and a camaro rear end. Little D bought a donor camaro, I think it was a 75 or 76. He used the front clip, motor, tranny, rear end and I think the booster and master. He also air bagged it, 4-linked the rear, put the IFS clip in super low. Even aired up the thing was lower than most of the F-100s that are considered really slammed.

I went on the maiden voyage to Lone Star Round Up in that thing. It was a pretty amazing trip, Little D let the truck off the lift for the first time, bolted the hood on and we threw our bags in the bed and left for Austin. No shake down miles, we just stopped for gas then got on the freeway headed east. We stopped in New Mexico to change the break-in oil and the tranny fluid, checked all the bolts and got back on the road. I will never forget that trip...

I really enjoyed looking at all of the pictures , love 60s ford trucks! My only complaint would be the coolest ones had the worst wheel choices and sat way too low....yes i know they are bagged, but how traditional is that? Not trying to start a bitch fest, just irritates me to see them HUGE billet wheels on old iron....that otherwise appears traditional. Some class and modern tech is ok with me....bags are ok, but gawd buy some "era" type wheels, them big ass rims just suck.

And thanks again, keep the pics coming. :D

The guy at the quick lube was really cool and let us down in the pit to tighten everything up...

I think alot of guys with big billet wheels are compensating for something?!?!?! lol. nah.. I think they are just easier to get... you can go to about any wheel shop and pick up a billet wheel.. rarely see any vintage wheels.
