OK - I've got 20 days including 3 weekends to finish my coupe before the Lonestar Round Up! All I have left to do is EVERYTHING!......So, it is time for the TO DO LIST! Does anyone have any "Oops, Holy Shit I forgot" ..... stories to share?
I have 2 4X4 post-it notes, on my garage door, FULL of stuff to do. I have one thing crossed out. I'll make it.
Triple check that your lug nuts are tight. Unless you want to recreate a scene from 'Herbie' and get passed by 'somebody's' wheel. Oh, and if this does ever happen to you, try not to lock up your brakes as you'll quickly drop down on the drum and grind yourself a flat spot. Just sayin....
Awesome work so far, and a great color. I agree, it'd be a real shame to screw it up because of some small forgotten detail.
nice paint and a great car. my list is in my head! lol. maybe i should write it down, but that would be depressing. so much left to do.
Damn Michael, thats gonna be one of the cleanest cars at the show! Can't wait to see it. I'd didn't drive mine around the block until the day before I left for Austin last year, and it didn't have any doors on in when I did. The only "oh shit" was more like a "damnit" when I figured out I couldn't run wires on F100 brakes without an adapter and had to swap in some steelies at the last minute. And my clutch slave cylinder was the wrong size, had to do spend a little extra for quick shipping on that one. Looks like you've got it all figured out though!! Good luck!
20 'full days/nights + 3 w/ends? looks like hang the doors put on & hook up the radiator & roll!! good lookin coupe by the way. you better start NOW! 20 days will go by like a flash when your busy & somewhat under pressure!
Thanks for the compliments - This has been almost a 4 year project..... time, money... not much of either of those.
Ha, you will not fit in with the other rat rods with that paint. Hey, you car looks amazing, you will be the talk of the town. Holy shit stories: I friend of mine built a 32 5W, only to see the left wheel go in a different direction than the steering wheel on the inaugural drive. Moral of the story: Check you cotter pins ! Have fun, Rolf
The weekend isn't over yet....... I'll post some pictures after today. I've had a crew over here all weekend, we've gotten a lot done so far!
Looking good. The color is hard to figure out in the pictures. Guess I'll have to see it in the light. Looks like right down the middle from a maroon and a root beer. The stance looks right on!
