Going to the April event with some buds and the J/GL-J/FL Lakester in preparation for Bonneville....my first time at this type of racing and can't wait!
i'll be there,i'm teching the street cars,135MPH and slower. i park way down past the finish line, with the bluebird motorhomes.
hey wildfire, i've seen your coupe run at maxton numerous times, i like it alot. i like the meet and greet thing. look for my old beat up 37 chevy with 937 on the doors on april 4 and 5 . me and my hoodlum friends will be there!
Blame it all on Randy Dupree and John Finn (VW GTI he runs at Maxton). They both own Bluebirds and used to talk up Maxton to other BlueBird owners (like me). Many if not most were either racers or gear heads or both. At the time this all got ratcheted up, Randy was running his "World's fastest Fiat 600" (with Northstar) and we, Bluebird owners, started going there to harass Randy. We should have about 15-20 "buses" there for this meet. Paul 29 Ford RPU Black & Gold Bluebird

so does anyone know whether the ECTA has a rotary engine class or do the penalize the wankel like the SCTA does?
From the ECTA '09 rulebook, page 14, about 1/2 way down, within the last paragraph of rule 2.A [which starts on page 13]. "For non-reciprocating engines, equivalent displacement [ED] will be calculated by the following formula: ED=SVx2 where SV is the Swept Volume."
thanks. 2 times isn't as bad as the scta's 3 x volume penalty it slaps on rotary engines. still don't know why they won't set them up with their own class
