typikal - mad skills! It's cool to see your process too.
car toon - that's a great stack! A cool drawing!
BigNick1959 - amazing. I can't even comprehend the skill set required to do that work. That Cherry Bomb lettering on that strat is beautiful.
    PACHECO - fantastic! Pure class!
    LOWCAB - holy moley!

I gotta stop there... I'll be here all day!

  9. Bit of a geeky one from me this week. These are quick little sketches I did on my Nintendo DS. I used the software Colors which has this cool playback feature so you can watch the whole piece being painted start to finish.
I did 99 of these rods, you can see 'em all at www.99ds.net if you're interested. BE WARNED though, there's another guys work on there too that is drawings of 99 naked chicks. The frail of heart should steer well clear!

I want to thank everyone for all of the kind words. It really means alot to me. Being unemployed and turned down for every job I have applied for in the past ten months, it is nice to see that people do like my work. This economy is killin' me! thanks again for the positive words!!
also, GREAT shown this week!! too much talent to list, but every one is very impressive!!

  19. Thanks for the comment Dutch Courage.
Here's the work again without the clumsy watermark and now posted @ medium res.
I'd appreciate feedback from folks on quality of presentation- bearing in mind this piece is a little rough arond the edges ( literally ).
    Thanks again,
    Spoggie

  24. BigNick....the first time I ever saw that car was one early morning in Covington Kentucky when I hear a rukus outside my window....Seems the guys wanted to have a few drinks at the bar downstairs from me after a week-end across the Ohio River at Edgewater Park Raceway...they were in a good mood...that was in 1970 as I recall....Though trailered, it was a thrill to see it parked on my street...haven't seen the car since then. Glad to see you're a part of the restoration. Did you ever get my e-mail about a job I suggested on your website? Thought I'd ask again....Centurion9

    Gary,
I love the rendering of the old sidewinder , I was lucky nenough to have seen that car run on quite afew occasions in the late 50's . It was one of the quickest cars around at one time, but the other guys caught up when they started making more horsepower than the sidewinder could handle thru that unique drivetrain. I think there were two 'regular' versions of the car, then they tried one called the 'magwinder', using alot of magnesium in the construction. I don't remember if the chassis was mag, or just the body,in any case it didn't seem to be as competetive as the earlier cars had been and I only remember hearing about it running a couple of times. I hope this helps you get more of a feel for what the car did. agentwaldo.
