There's a guy on here that goes by the name Rikster. He somehow digs up alot of old info and Mag coverage on cars. He may know something... I dropped him a message w/ a link to this thread. Rikster? You got anything?
Unfortunately nothing on this car. I hope somebody else more into Gassers can find anything more about it.
Well, Bandimere has been here for 50 years, so it could have raced there, but back then there were quite a few dragstrips around here, so who knows.... If indeed it is from the Denver area, you might want to post a message over on http://www.coloradodragracing.com/index.php and see if any of the older guys will remember seeing it.
Anyone have any pics of the Willies' Pie Wagon? It was raced at the Old San Diego Raceway. Which is now the Ramona Airport.
I believe your Gasser was campaigned by the Gamueda Brothers out of Pueblo, CO- http://www.flickr.com/photos/drive-design/3020726320/in/set-72157608823022949/

Hello Everyone, I couldn't believe it when my Dad, Alex Gamueda forwarded me a picture of he and his brothers' old Anglia that was found at the Portland Roadster Show recently. My Dad and his two brothers, John (Johnny) and Junior raced this Anglia for a few years in the late '60's. They were part of a family business (Gamueda Brothers Farms) in between Thornton and Henderson, CO. My Dad, Alex was primarily the mechanic and raced the car only a handful of times, Junior and Johnny were the drivers. I just spoke with my Dad minutes ago and when they had the Anglia they had a Hilborn Fuel Injected 302 and their quickest time was 10.76 in the 1/4 mile. My Dad thinks this was at the old Rocky Mountain Speedway? I remember the day the car was sold, I believe it was sold to someone in Montana and I have no idea who owns the car today. The orignial Anglia had white headers, but the color of the car and the "Gamueda Bros." stencil looks very close to the original (from what I can remember). My Dad told me when he lowered the cars' front end after returning from California, everyone in Colorado thought they were nuts! If anyone has any questions I'm sure he'd be happy to answer. He is currently building a '40 Ford Sedan that he's had since high school. Thanks Troy
Sorry about the late reply,But by now you must already know your dad came to calif and raced the car for the first time since 1968, as far as I know Its been stuck away all those years. It was just shot for a feature story In a magazine, and it came out in a magazine right after the race with your Dad driving it. Ive got other projects now, and im thinking about selling it. If I do im letting your dad know first JOE Go to utube pull up Anglia burnout
here at G & M Motorsports we are just finishing up our 48 anglia.we will be running at Little River Tx.in Oct.In July we delivered a hillborn set-up to john gamueda in Denver.he is now building a street anglia. If it's anything like the one they built in the 60's,Look out.
Cool to see you here. Great car have heard about this car for along time from my dad. He used to work for joe novak at the dairy down the road from the Gamueda Brothers Farms. Saw the car on ebay a while back and pops was telliung me all about it and how my uncle was going to buy it at one time and didn't but wishes he had now. I also remember the brothers coming in to my dads chassis shop always asking if he wanted to sell the anglia we are going to start building now.
