All that have been listed are great. Wanted to add Bass, dodgerodder, and Jimmy White from the board. Their threads are inspiring.

    and my Father

I think there are probably a hundred other guys I could name but these guys have work that sticks out on individual pieces as well as whole projects. This is not for car builds right, just fabricators?

Dodgerodder is one that I should have put on. Good thinking Gotgas.

  11. FABRICATOR?

Easy ~ Lil John Buttera Best all around I've ever seen, R.I.P.

Maybe Phil Remington, Fay Butler, sure I'll think of a few more.

What about the guy that hand built that roadster that was Indy inspired? I think he worked for Indy too and it was featured in TRJ a year or two ago? That thing was awesome!!!

Or the guy that built the Orange Crate. That cars crossmembers and tube frame was awe inspiring. The way that is came apart so that it could be chromed and the way it joined together is on a whole other level.

I need to check out Lil John Buttera stuff. I feel like jack ass that I don't know more about him and his work.

I have looked a the work of Dave at Littlemans Fabrication and was really impressed with the ideas and quality, also been to West Coast Choppers and looked at some of the things that Jesse was in the middle of building. Got to spend several hours with him on a Sunday looking at several projects he was working on. Very impressed with both of these guys.. And of course I like my own work as well..

If you're gonna mention Cole, don't forget the man that I assume taught him--his dad Pat Foster.
As long as I'm here I'll throw in Al Bergler and Tom Hanna.

Well being old school taught and back in the days I say none better than George Barris. Hands down he did it the right way.

Jesse James......................speaking of wich, how many of you guys are watching him on "celeb. apprentice", wishing that one of the tasks they have to perform is metal shaping????????????????

George Barris, Gene Winfield, Daryll Starbird and Ed"BIg Daddy" Roth......these guys are/were innovators .

  25. I would not consider George Barris a "Fabricator" - George was sheetmetal/body guy. Different ball game in my opinion.

  27. Your arguement about what a fabricator is seems kind of hypocritical when you listed Faye Butler who is essentially a sheetmetal guy. Not to take away from any of them as I think they are all great fabricators in their own ways but to say some one like George (although most would argue that Sam did most of the actualy meatl work) or Ron Covell or Ron Fournier are not fabricators because they do sheetmetal work is pretty narrow minded as to what a fabricator is.

If I have just one vote for the best fabricator, and there are sooo many really good ones...

    'Lil John.

He took it to an artform that most of try to copy today.

One hand made bracket serving several functions while looking like it "belonged" on the car the whole time. That, my friends, is hard to pull off, and he did it all the time.

To me, 'Lil John set the standard.
