I just recieved my Mad Fabricators sound track CDs in the mail and it made me wonder what you people listen to while working on your rods.Do you like classical to weld to,punk to sand to,country to cry over your busted knuckle to?I seem to gravitate to old rock and roll.I need something slower when welding because I get moving to fast with the music and really screw up some welds. So anyhow tell us what you work to so we can all gain a little musical culture.

Generally have the youth network radio station JJJ on.

When I have a good session in the shed and achieve a lot I like to play "Jesus built my hot rod" by Ministry. And for those that havent heard it its not a religous song :)

  15. Grown way tired of heavy rock, C&W, worn out 50's and 60's standards and the like. Sooooo.........
Been exploring latin rythms lately. Check out the Buena Vista Social Club albums. They also teamed up with Ry Cooder some time back. Also a solo album from pianist Ruben Gonzalez (Introducing .... Ruben Gonzalez) the oldest member of BVSC. Picked this up on "Pandora" radio on the net where you can create your own "stations" by music type or artist.
And there will always be standard American blues like Wynonie Harris, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, et. al. and the whole 50's Chess scene..................

Link Wray was basically the soundtrack for channeling my truck. But I gotta have some hopped op shit goin'. Heavy rockabilly like the Chop Tops and Three Bad Jacks etc. I also enjoy some good metal and hardcore too. If you bring rap into my garage or shop, I will break whatever it is recorded on.

I own a body shop and one of the best things about owning the place is I listen to what I want, and the monkeys have to deal with it.For several months I was on a Wayne "the train"Hancock trip.We play the shop tunes off of my I Tunes.Im not gonna turn this into a who listens to the most obscure music thread. But to name a few,Joe Buck,Hank 3,Hank Sr.J Cash,Wayne the train,Straight Eights,The Carburetors,The Cramps.....you get the idea.
