Hey Goober, I'm Tom Blackford, the owner of the coupe. Someone told me this was on a post. I wondered where you came up with the picture and the history. Thanks!

Nascar great Cotton Owens was the owner of the cotten picker. Believe it or not David Pearson was the driver

Hey it's Quain Stott! Welcome to here.

I don't suppose anybody has any pictures of the Ford Nascar drivers that drag raced in 1966-67 ? Mario Andretti said he and Fred Lorenzen drove AFX Mustangs. I think that was because they had a contract with the manufacturer to race and wouldn't be paid otherwise while the Nascar boycott was on.

  18. Ford NASCAR drivers drove drag cars as far back as 1963. Phil Bonner provided a '63 Galaxie and later a '64 Thunderbolt for match races to Fred Lorenzen, Fireball Roberts, among others. These guys among others also drove cars owned by Dick Brannan.

Also, the "Cotton Picker" wagon still survives and is owned by a collector in MD. It is awaiting a full restoration.

  24. Know what I liked best about that issue of R&C? The grill on the T bird. Built one just like it for my '59.

If you have an idea what old magizines (year & month) might have pics I will try and find them in my old stuff. I have the hot rod that shows the build of the Richard Petty 43jr.
