  3. How did this guy get that particular finish on that truck? I'm gonna paint my 58 Apache dark blue, but I'm not sure what finish to use to get it how I'm picturing it in my head. I see things all the time with the finish I like, but I have a hard time explaining it to people. The closest thing I can think of is the blue christmas ornament balls they sell at Walmart during the holidays. There are some that look satin. There are also some T-Mobile slide phones that are blue suede. This truck's finish looks the closest to it so far. Any body have any ideas?

This was one I built in 1998. I sold it in 2003 and can be seen running around the Kent WA area. I wish I'd kept it. :(

I dig Jack Rudy's truck too.

  18. Yeah, I've already checked out HotRod Flatz and none of those colors or finishes are what I'm looking for.

  19. Here's a phone with the finish basically like I want. I know for sure there was a 53 blue suede Cadillac owned by Jim Bruns in the (03)? issue of Rod and Custom with the finish I like. His, of course, was just done with PPG Firemist Blue Metallic basecoat, but in Texas, we can't do that because it will fade.

Heres mine again. The drummer from queens of the stone age bought it for his dad.

  22. The closest I can find is Jim Brun's 53 Caddy, but he just used a basecoat. I can't do that in Tx, because it'll fade and look like shit.

In my opinion, one of the coolest suede colors, on one of the coolest vans I've ever seen. Complete with Cragars, Wide Whites, and Killer Kustom Art by Squindo...
