Does anyone here have any actual experience with Barry Grant Road Demon carbs?I can pick up a little used 525 CFM Road demon Jr for short money, the guy switched to a larger Demon carb. The size would be nice for the mild performance 305 in my 64 El Camino. I know they are similar to a Holley,I do have a lot of experience with Holleys so tuning should be no problem. Are they just a Holley clone? Or do they offer some advantage in carburetion over the 50 year old 4 bbl Holley design? Do Demons use Holley Jets?
the differences are very subtle, and they use all holley guts. Jets, floats, needles and seats, air bleeds, gaskets, power valves... They rule. You won't be dissappointed. unless it's broken. which, being basically a holley, is an easy fix.
Demon carbs are one of the 1st things I throw on my cars, easy to setup and tune, parts are pretty available (they're holley parts), and they're called DEMON!
My experience with Demon carbs on two customers cars is all positive. they come with an instruction book that, if read and understood, will take you through any setup that neeeds to be done. Frank
I have a couple of mighty demons, good carbs as long as "a person" dosen't try to run E85 through em...
