Simon "Chunks" Koschels Volvo P1800 finally made its long awaited debut at the Nostalgia Drags at Willowbank - well sort of... After literally finishing the car the day before, he lined it up for its first run, did a great burnout but unfortunately dropped a small amount of oil and had to pull out. Anyway, the car was well recieved and had a lot of people scratching their heads wondering WTF it was.

7. That's a lot cooler than I ever would have expected with the brand name "Volvo" being attached to it...and no soccer moms in sight. :D Very clean.

I've got one parked on the side of the garage, a back burner project.

Oh man. There is a local guy that has a bone stock original. White and pretty nice. He'd lose his mind if he saw that. I love it.

I did the metal fabrication & fit-up on this beast.

Simon got the car off his father some time ago,he took it to Kustom City where they painted it yellow,
then a while after that he took it to my brother Al's place.

"thats when i got involved",as for the metal fabrication & fit up work done by me includes-
metal fabrication work around the inner nose cone/radiator area,
replace rail sections at front ,
moved the firewall back,
made a bigger transmision tunnel,
mounted the motor and trans,
notched left inner guard for battery,
put floor in boot,
mount the fuel tank,
rust repairs where needed.

Then the car went to Kustom City for a re-paint only (orange).

Col Raison did the spanner work on the motor (sound tuff too).

Aussie Diffs norrowed & fitted the Borg Warner diff & leaf springs.

then i got back into it & done the final fit up on the car this includes the race seat,
different shifter,
eccelerator pedal & cable
brake master cylinder & front dics callipors
new fuel lines,
new brake lines,
raditor,
hood & truck pins
thermo fan.

That is a very cool car. There are actually a couple of cool old Volvo body styles.
