here is where I'm at with mine.

    Whats left of a 54 ford in a 30/31 A

Looking like the stock speedo is a NO G, so I'm on the lookout for a smaller one i can center up in the middle of the dash.

I'm also going to fill the old speedo area, the heat/AC controls, and throw some SW guages in there somewhere

Here's a gauge panel I'm planning on using in my 40 dodge with SW winged gauges. It's from a 67 dodge A100.

This is the dash in my 1920 Model "T". The guage cluster is a '63 Falcon piece. If you look closely the Fuel & Temp guage have been swapped out for Stewart-Warner Oil & Volt guages.

Beside the guages are some re-pop Patent Plates. It gives the dash an old-timey look. I used these to help install my ignition switch & horn button. Most of these switches are intended to go thru sheet metal. Because I put extra wood behind the dash to give the fiberglass body structural strength, I was having problems installing the switches due to the thickness. I drilled oversized holes in the dash and used the Patent Plates as a sheet metal like facia to hold the guages.

  9. cut-down 50 ford dash in my old 33 ford pickup...all the gauges except the fuel gauge worked with the flathead motor.

    awesome thread!!!

  14. I subscribe to the K.I.S.S. principle. Soon this will be replaced with vintage black-face 2 5/8" Stewart Warner gauges with a matching speedometer on an engine-turned field.

Edit: Changed my mind. The 2 5/8" SW's will mount in a panel below the dash.

Here's what I'm doing in my '29 A coupe. A '37 Harley panel turned upside down. I welded 3/8" steel rod to form up to the panel itself and make everything look somewhat natural. It'll have two old SW water temp gauges, and an SW fuel gauge and Amp gauge- two on each side of the harley panel.

51 Crown Victoria dash in my 28 RPU. Sectioned in three places to keep proportions close. The perforated metal is stainless filter medium from Mc Master Carr, cut, formed and dimpled (using dimple dies). The wheel is an ebay item of unknown origin mounted to a modified Nields power sprint car box.
